About Sarah Koji Foundation (SKF)

The Sarah Koji Foundation (SKF) is a non-governmental organization with a profound commitment to Girl Child Education and Social Welfare across Nigeria, with a primary focus on the Northern region. This area faces severe challenges including insurgency, banditry, pervasive illiteracy, and deeply entrenched poverty, compounded by cultural inhibitions, some of which are rooted in religious beliefs.

Our Genesis:

SKF was conceptualized as a "child of destiny," born out of a direct response to the escalating crisis in the West African region, particularly Northern Nigeria. Here, millions of girls are deprived of education, facing the devastating consequences of early marriage, social instability, and widespread economic mismanagement and corruption

Our Founder

The Sarah Koji Foundation was founded by the esteemed Economist and Educationist, DCNS (Mrs) Sarah Thomas Koji. Her extensive experience, cultivated over many years of working in diverse parts of Nigeria, and her exposure to the harsh realities confronting the development and wellbeing of the girl child in the West African sub-region, fueled her passion to establish this foundation. Her decades of experience in the academic sector, specifically at the secondary level, underscore her long-standing dedication to securing a better future for the younger generation.

Leveraging decades of experience, SKF strives to reengineer social norms to prioritize the wellbeing of families in general, and the girl child in particular. Our ultimate aim is to contribute to the holistic wellbeing of the entire society.
